Ok I live in Atlanta...and I honestly dont see the big deal with the question. FACT Slaves got beat, FACT Slaves had to pick fruits and cotton etc....FACT, so why can schools NOT discuss Slavery? All those black people protesting was just stupid to me. So now niggas want to ban the word "slavery"??? I agree with you Patrick I can see Boondocks jumping at this, but hopefully not to make fun of the teachers, but the lame Rollo Goodlove type protesters.

I know that episodes have been literally ripped from the headlines before (Season 2, ep11 "The S word"), but this story just seems to good for Aaron to pass up!
3rd graders at a Norcross, Ga middle school were asked word problem questions on a math test that involved slaves picking oranges and receiving beatings.
- "Each tree had 56 oranges. If 8 slaves pick them equally, then how much would each slave pick?"
- "If Frederick got two beatings per day, how many beatings did he get in 1 week?"
I wish I was making this up:

Those kids were 9 and 10 years old. I'm not saying it shouldn't be taught in schools, b/c to turn a blind eye to it would just make our kids more ignorant than they already are, but definitely not at that age.
But thanks for your comment and if you are like me, you CAN'T WAIT until the new season starts!
Long like "da boondocks" !!!
Permalink Reply by Major Lazer on April 16, 2012 at 9:25am Since the John Witherspoon confirmed there will be a season 4, it probably won't come out till 2013. So this episode hopefully would have some relevance if it ever gets made or seen by Aaron McGruder first.
So it starts with the Freeman family in Woodcrest watching the build up to the London 2012 Olympics and then Granddad surprises the boys with tickets to go and watch some the events in London. They arrive in England and are surprised by the fact that the DuBois's are also in London for the Olympics on a family Holiday. There are also signs that Tom and Sarah's relationship is improving which pleases Jazmine. The boys are puzzled as to where they will be staying as Granddad hasn’t made it apparent yet. Wanting to save on money, Granddad tell the boys they'll be staying with one of his old WW2 buddies who didn't go back to America after the war. Philip 'Juggernaut' Jones (Shortened to Jugs) has over the years become very successful in the UK running and owning flying schools around the country. The funds for the flying schools came about from his marriage to a rich aristocratic white woman who caught jungle fever back in the 40s. So Granddad's friend basically lives the high life in London to which Granddad is obviously jealous, but this is an opportunity for the Freemans to pull an 'Invasion of the Katrinians' style freeload. Jugs is surprised to see Granddad for the first time in almost 70 years and also is happy for the Freemans to crash at his place in central London.
Meanwhile somewhere in London Ed Wuncler is still making big money gambles with his assets and companies. This time against Korean businessman Han Sang Kim, Samsung being one of the many businesses under his ownership. In an arrogant and unwise move brought about by Mr Kim’s trickery, Ed Wuncler loses a vast majority of his wealth to Kim. At this point Ed tries his best to back out of the game and his debts, a furious gun battle ensues between Kim and Wuncler’s bodyguards. Ed manages to escape but unfortunately for him he is in New Malden, otherwise the heart and centre of the Korean community in London. Without a moments waste he is kidnapped while Ed the III and Gin Rummy, who were part of Mr Wuncler’s security detail, watch on. They succeed in coming out of the incident unscathed by being put on driver duty. Immediately EdIII contacts the highest authority in the US government to organise a rescue mission for his grandfather. The US government turns around to deny him this opportunity as they have been looking for a way to end their relationship with Ed Wuncler. He has been uncooperative with the US government as of late and the dissolution of his conglomerate would be welcome. All the while this excuse is wrapped around another excuse of not wanting to cause an international incident during the Olympics.
While the Freemans and the DuBois take in the London sights and enjoy the Olympics games, Ed Wuncler is kept in reasonable comfort but non to his liking by Mr Kim. Kim tries to persuade Ed to pay his debts and handover his businesses without the need of things getting ‘ugly’. By now Kim has informed Ed that the US government is not coming to his aid. Although Ed being Ed has another sneaky card up his sleeve and convinces Kim into one last bet. Mr Kim’s grandson is participating in the Olympics for Korea in Taekwondo.
Ed bets Kim that Huey can beat his grandson Daniel Kim who is a national Taekwondo prodigy and also the same age and stature of Huey. At the same time in another part of London the Freemans are on a boat tour of the river Thames much to Riley’s dissatisfaction, Jugs jokes with Granddad about how his white wife has managed to keep some form of beauty over the years, making Granddad jealous. All of a sudden two helicopters descend and hover over the tour boat while men in black swat gear rappel downwards. Immediately Jugs and Granddad are taken by the men, at this point Huey and Riley jump into the river and swim for the bank. They make it but are swiftly picked up by men in black suits and thrown into black range rovers with tinted windows. The Freeman family and Jugs are held in an abandoned warehouse (Battersea Powerstation), where Huey is asked to comply with a mission that he not been informed about; so his answer is no. Two shadowy figures with distorted voices then start to argue but the manner and content of the argument make it apparent that it is EdIII and Rummy. The whole situation is then explained to the Freemans at which point they all berate EdIII and Rummy about their awful planning skills and terrible plans. All that was needed from the very beginning was for EdIII and Rummy to ask Huey nicely. Huey is reluctant at first but upon finding out that it is Daniel Kim he will be facing in final if he gets that far, he accepts. Not for Ed Wuncler, not for his businesses, not for America but for the opportunity to face Daniel and possibly win an Olympic gold medal.
Daniel was Huey’s sparring partner in Chicago before they went their separate ways. Huey found Daniel annoying but his master saw that this brought out the best in Huey and Daniel’s skills, so they were paired together. Both are martial arts experts but excelled particularly in Taekwondo.
EdIII informs Huey that he’ll be now staying in the Olympic athlete village and is now an US athlete thanks due to Ed senior’s backhand dealings and influence. Granddad now takes full advantage of the situation by getting VIP access for all areas of the Olympics. Granddad, Riley and Jugs proceed to have as much fun as possible while Huey hones his skills and practices before the Taekwondo tournament.
Huey has a brief but tense encounter with Daniel in the middle of the athlete village, at this point Daniel finds out he can still get under Huey skin and irritate him as easily as he could do when they were younger. Huey restrains himself but smashes a bench after Daniel is out of sight.
The day of the tournament arrives and the Freeman family, Jugs and his wife and the DuBois are in the crowd to watch Huey. As day 1 of the tournament comes to a close is appears that Daniel and Huey will meet in the final if they continue to easily defeat their opponents. Day 2 arrives and whilst being held captive, Ed senior and Han Sang watch the tournament anxiously on TV as their respective interests hang in the balance. Eventually Huey and Daniel meet in the gold medal match. The contest starts off at a quick pace but the fight starts to escalate to a fierce level and the rules are quickly thrown out the window. The fight is still allowed to continue and the news of such a good fight travels around the world via social media. People all over the world begin to tune into fight unbeknownst to them of the real nature of the ferocity of the fight. A great martial arts battle ensues as it is not just Taekwondo that is being used. The battle seems to be evenly matched but Daniel makes the mistake of threatening to mess with Huey books, claiming that Huey was never a domestic terrorist and how he’ll mess more with Huey’s life once his grandfather owns all Ed senior’s banks which has ownership of Huey home in Woodcrest. This sets Huey off and he remembers a teaching by his master which he promptly uses to end the fight in an emphatic manner (Karate Kid reference/parody possible at this point).
In the madness of the whole moment Huey is awarded the gold medal. In another part of London Ed senior jumps up and down like a little boy screaming “USA!! USA!!” He composes himself and concludes with Kim that their business is done and walks out untouched to be picked up by EdIII and Rummy. Back at the arena Daniel admits to Huey that the reason he was always mean to him was because he was jealous of Huey’s martial arts skills. They make up and go their separate ways. The Freemans enjoy the rest of their holiday which includes Huey taking part in the closing ceremony but causing controversy by refusing to be the USA flag bearer because he felt he was too small to carry it, but this not told by the media much to Huey’s annoyance although the take it with a nonchalant manner.
Since I finished writing this idea Regina King has confirmed there is going to be a season 4. I hope this idea could find its way to Aaron somehow. The Boondocks is too good of a show to end after season 3.
Permalink Reply by SarahLynne on April 29, 2012 at 4:21pm Since the boys had their episodes about sports, what about an episode centering Jazmine in ballet, and her mother is trying to force her to be someone she is not?
I want to see a Trayvon Martin episode kinda like the S-Word feat Rollo Goodlove. Another get episode would be nigga moments at all College Black Spring Break gatherings. Have Thugnificent invite Granddad, Ruckus & Tom down to SouthBeach for Memorial Day and watch the chaos happen.
Oh yes I forgot we also need a Basketball/Football Housewives of City X episode. Have granddad win a date with a Tami type of character....lol
