Now I have been a fan of the Boondocks since the first season and have seen every episode. It is the first animated cartoon that I have seen devoted toward African Americans and I love the characters especially Huey for his reserved attitude and likeness for martial arts. But after watching the 1st episode of season 3 about Obama and the first 10 minutes of the new episode about uncle Ruckus, im starting to feel a little insulted as a African American.Neither one of these episodes were funny to me and seemed just staight out disrespectful. Now dont get me wrong, I know the Boondocks has strong racial opinions but it worries me when it gets this serious.

Permalink Reply by Sly on June 1, 2010 at 6:50pm I agree that sometimes it feels like they go a little too far, but at the same time, think about what the moral of each episode is. Most of it wants to educate society, mostly the black society. The show wants us to realize that we "niggas" are acting a fool. We are making ourselves look bad through our actions, and I'm not saying every black person acts a fool but many do, and we need to realize how it is making us look.
Just check the videos they put up here on the site. There are alot of prejudices about black people, like smoking weed, selling drugs, driveby's and all that gangsta shit.
The show is explicit because it speaks the truth, and the truth hurts.
The truth is that we're making ourselves look bad.
Compare Huey and Riley's personalities, they are two sides of the same coin.

Permalink Reply by Jasper Walker on October 2, 2010 at 11:14am I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda offended by "The Story Of Jimmy Rebel" episode which was not only the runner up for least favorite episode from all seasons, (It's Going Down sucked ass, can't believe it was the show they decided to end the series with) but threw so many racist terms out, it just wasn't funny. I have to disagree with you on the Obama episode tho, it wasn't racist and it was one of the best shows from that season because it had that same flare as the shows from season 1, which was more fact then fiction. That's the way we (black people) acted. If we can't laugh at ourselves then maybe we should stop the stand up comedians from telling the rest of the world how "black people do" and how their race does.
